Shele Blum - Gilbert, Iowa Education Foundation

Shele Blum

Shele grew up in Atlantic, Iowa, the youngest of 6 children.  After graduating from high school, she attended Iowa State University and attained a BS in Elementary Education.  After graduation, Shele taught for 8 years before becoming a “Stay at Home Mom” for the next 6 years.  
 
From 2002-2009 she was the Mentor Facilitator for the Gilbert School District, through Youth and Shelter Services, and in 2010 became the Development Consultant for the Gilbert Education Foundation.
 
Shele has been very involved with the Gilbert School District by serving on the Foundation Board since 2005, chairing and being on various committees with the Rock Hop since 2003, volunteering in classrooms, substitute teaching, and many miscellaneous activities.
 
Shele has been married to Scott for 27 years and they have two children.  Madison is a freshman at Creighton University and Ryan a senior at Gilbert High School.
