Steve Risdal

Steve Risdal  is a lifelong resident of Ames graduating from Ames High School and DMACC and attended ISU. Risdal has been married to Shirley for 45 years and have two adult children that work in the family businesses and were Gilbert School graduates. Risdal's business career started 43 years ago, being the first Casey's General Store Franchisee selling his stores back to Casey's in 2000 after a thirty year run.Throughout  the 43 years Risdal has been involved in many businesses and continues to be involved in commercial real estate,farming,self storage, motor sports , landscaping and irrigation and land development .

 

Risdal was one of the initial Foundation board members and continues to serve on the board. He is also a First American Bank board member and has served on the ISU Atheltic Advisory Board. Co-founding and organizing the Iowa Gasoline Dealers Association is one of his past accomplishments along with receiving the Governors Community Volunteer of the year award twice.
