Jeff W. Taylor

Jeff Taylor has served as a director of Lincolnway Energy (LWE), a bio-refinery near Ames, Iowa, since it was organized in May of 2004. He currently serves as chairman. LWE processes 20 million bushels of corn into 57 million gallons of ethanol and produces co-products such as dried distiller's grain, corn oil and CO2. He has participated in many different roles in the development of LWE, which include: creation of the original business plan, chairing the equity drive, and interviewing and hiring the project manager and current CEO. 
     
Jeff serves as a manager on the Ames Seed Capital L.L.C. Managers are elected by the shareholders to oversee a pool of privately contributed funds. The purpose of the funds are to provide equity financing, help create and retain jobs, and provide positive economic impact for business start-ups in the Ames, Iowa area.
    
Jeff  is a member of a bioscience work group that provides qualitative information to the Iowa Innovation Council as it prepares to make policy recommendations to support entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial companies. The Iowa Innovation Council is a private / public statewide partnership that is fostering collaboration between industry, academia and government, to leverage Iowa resources and accelerate the rate of innovation and commercialization with new and existing Iowa businesses.
 
Jeff received a BS Degree in Farm Operations & Agricultural Studies from Iowa State University in 1989 and has farmed actively with his family for 25+ yrs. He is currently the fifth generation to be farming the family farms. The farming operation has historically been heavily weighted in livestock production which included a farrow to finish hog operation. Currently Jeff is active in farming approximately 1,800 acres of row crop corn and soybeans.
