Doug Williams - Gilbert, Iowa Education Foundation

Doug Williams

Doug is a native Iowan, and a graduate of New Providence High School. He has a BA degree from Simpson College, and a Masters and Ed. Specialist degrees from Iowa State University.
 
During a 35 year career in public education he served in a number of Iowa school districts. Those districts include Orient-Macksburg, Stuart-Menlo, Exira and Gilbert. He served as Superintendent of Schools in Gilbert from 1980-2004, when he joined Des Moines Area Community College. At DMACC he has served as the Vice President for Business Services/CFO and retired in 2012.
 
The Gilbert Education Foundation was started in the early 1990’s while Doug was Gilbert Superintendent. Following his move to DMACC he joined the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
 
Doug and his wife Pam have an adult son Chris, a 1999 Gilbert graduate, who now lives in Minneapolis and is employed as a CPA with Price Waterhouse Coopers.
 
Doug and Pam now split there time between Clear Lake, Iowa and Peoria, Arizona.
