Lindsay Ellingson - Gilbert, Iowa Education Foundation

Lindsay Ellingson

Lindsay Ellingson has been in the masonry industry for over 40 years, both in the field side of the industry as well as brick sales and promotion. He is involved with the Iowa market for United Brick Division in sales and management as well as covering national sales for the mid-America for the parent company- Sioux City Brick. His travels expose him to many national building designs for high schools, universities, and other public and private construction projects with architects, designers, and construction groups.

He worked over 15 years on the Ames Fire Department beginning in 1972 along with the masonry industry. He left the fire department in 1988 and has worked for Sioux City Brick since then.

Lindsay has held many tasks in the Gilbert Schools from helping with sports programs through coaching, building projects, and student class room mentoring as well as parent or community task groups for planning or curriculum review. He has been honored many times for his participation and thinks many people in our Gilbert School Family deserve recognition for the progress our school continues to show.

He is serving on the GF Fire Board to help reorganize the Gilbert Franklin Fire Agency, which has moved away from the Weststory Fire Agency. This fire group is responsible for fire protection for the City of Gilbert and Franklin Township.

Lindsay and his wife Pat are both Gilbert School graduates along with their daughters Jill Kruse and Kate Stephens, who teach in the Gilbert District. They have 5 grandchildren, all attending or slated to attend Gilbert Community Schools. This makes them still very active in the school and the community. Watching the events is always a reminder of the great administration, staff, coaches, students, and parents the Gilbert District family is made up of.
