Mary Mosiman

Mary is the Deputy of Elections in the Iowa Secretary of State’s office. She accepted this position effective January 2011 after serving for 10 years as the Story County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections.
Born and raised on a farm in Hubbard, Iowa, Mary came to Ames in 1980. She and her husband Dan are the proud parents of 4 daughters; Kathryn, Madelyn, Lauren, and Hillary.
Mary is a graduate of Iowa State University and has CPA certification. Prior to becoming Auditor, Mary owned and operated a daycare business for 5+ years. Before that she spent 5+ years as an accounting assistant at ALMACO, a local Nevada company that manufactures specialized agricultural research equipment.
Mary has been a member of the Gilbert Education Foundation since 2003 and served as president during the 2008-2009 school year. She currently serves as the treasurer.
Mary’s hobbies include music, jogging, reading, and keeping pace with the activities of their 4 daughters. She has been a beginning golfer for the last 25 years, and is determined to one day be a viable player on the course.
