Greetings from the Gilbert Education Foundation!
Even though 2020 was full of challenges and 2021 started the same way, we have reasons to celebrate. The Gilbert Community School District has shown brightly, rising above the trials and tribulations caused by a worldwide pandemic to support teachers, staff and students by providing a safe and effective onsite learning environment and successfully offering remote instruction.
The Gilbert Education Foundation is proud of the district's achievements and is excited to see what the rest of 2021 brings while living the district's mission: Empowering Students, Every Student, Every Day.
Typically at this time we would be wrapping up our annual fundraiser, The Rock Hop. Over the past 20 years, The Rock Hop has played a vital role in generating funds used for the enhancement and enrichment of our students' educational experiences. In the past decade alone, The Rock Hop has generated over $1,000,000 for the Foundation to invest in district-wide field trips, technology enhancement, science/STEM materials and mini-grants for classrooms.
While we didn't feel it was a wise decision to gather people together for a traditional Rock Hop this year, we also don't want to lose this opportunity to celebrate our Gilbert Community and show our appreciation for the sacrifices that have gone into making this past year a success.
Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 per school building ($40,000 total for the district) for the administrators, staff and students to determine how to invest the funding in a way that can be enjoyed by many in their school buildings. The Foundation is only successful through the generosity of friends of the Gilbert District. We would like to ask for that assistance again this year.
