Mindy Rash

Mindy grew up in a small Northwest Iowa town and graduated from Marcus-Meridan-Cleghorn high school.  After graduation, she moved to Des Moines to attend AIB College of Business and graduated with an associate’s degree in Medical Administration.  This is when her life adventure brought her to Ames.  She began working at McFarland Clinic as a Medical Receptionist.  After a few years, she decided that she wanted to take a more hands on approach with the patients and made the decision to attend nursing school at DMACC in Boone. In 2005, she graduated as a Registered Nurse and has worked in the General Surgery department at McFarland ever since.  She not only works full time with a surgeon both in the office and in the OR, but also manages the General Surgery and Plastic Surgery departments at McFarland.

Mindy and her husband Adam have twin boys who attend elementary school at Gilbert.  Prior to attending Gilbert, Ethan and Aidan attended Ames Community Preschool Center (ACPC), where Mindy served on the board of directors.  While serving on the board, Mindy helped ACPC to obtain a facility of their own and assisted with coordinating the moving efforts to the new location.

Adam and Mindy enjoy attending their boys' activities at Gilbert as well as their sporting events.  Mindy has volunteered on school field trips and mileage club and assisted with home preparation of classroom materials.
